There are many other reasons why car accidents happen and they are due to other things than distractions.

For example, animals could be one of them.  An animal in the middle of the road or running across the middle of the road is definitely something that causes a lot of different accidents.  Another thing is going to be poor road conditions and also poor weather conditions.

The moral of the story?  Just make sure that you are very careful whenever you are driving.  Keep your eyes on the road and pay attention to everything.
